What better way to ring in the New Year than with a real life fairy tale? With the new year comes resolutions to live our best and make the world a little better. With a love like this, this couple is doing just that!
Diana and Caleb…what a love they have and perhaps one of the most thoughtful, passionate and genuine couples I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Without making this post too lengthy let me just gush about groom for a bit.
The surprises he planned for her throughout the day were quiet moments – not showy – all intimate. I was lucky enough to have a heads up to some; although, I am sure there were many, many more. From the proposal, which was a surprise trip to Machu Picchu (yes, a pack her bag and everything kind of surprise), to the 100 wedding day countdowns he hid around the house for her to find (polaroids were taken of each one of his creations where he’d form the numbers with everyday items around the house). Not to mention the hidden embroidery in his wedding jacket with sweet sentiments to her, her bouquet arriving with 2 fabric roses he had placed inside (the fabric roses were made from his own mothers wedding dress), to his gift to her – an antique chest with a pinned map of places they have been and pins to fill for future escapes. Inside the lid was an engraved plaque in his actual handwriting and the chest itself was full of little notes and gifts of things he saved along the way including a ring he had as child which broke. He explained that he cried and his dad was able to fix the ring and he promised to save it to give to his future bride someday (he saved it for over 20 years!).
If that weren’t enough, her bridesmaid handed her another gift before she went down the aisle. It was custom penny for her shoe, a good luck charm with a lighthouse on it. Yes, I am still swooning and smiling in my mind just remembering how special he made her feel throughout their beautiful day! After the ceremony, he had custom pens made (a left handed one because she is lefty) so they had something special to sign their marriage license with. Later, he surprised her with custom made toasting flutes and then custom made tea cups and saucers for their tea service.
One of my favorite moments of the night was how he decorated their bedroom suite. It was lit with terrariums and twinkle lights. The best part? Inside each terrarium were custom made scenes of the two of them…teenie tiny little Diana & Calebs! And honestly, he did all of this for her…not for the reaction of friends and family, not so I would post and share…all because he loves her. Soooo with that being said…have a little peak into this amazing love. It was truly magical to capture!!
Kelly Cronin Photography is based in Cape Cod Massachusetts. As a wedding photographer, my focus is capturing the natural connections between loved ones as a couple’s life journey begins. I love highlighting the romance and pure joy that is vibrant during these special days. Along with capturing the beginning of a family’s journey, I also love to photograph the moments that follow. Maternity, baby, and family photos are part of my passion and I love to bring the essence of a family through my camera into prints that can be cherished for generations. I understand that photos are not only a way to preserve special moments in a family’s journey, but also heirlooms that will help a love story live on forever.
